A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. The site, or a service it uses, reads it back when you load another page. Some services keep the same kind of data in your browser's local storage instead of a cookie. We list those here too. ## Your choices The cookie banner groups cookies by purpose: necessary, functional, analytics and advertising. Necessary cookies are always on, because the site needs them to remember your choice. Google Analytics and Google Ads read your choice through Google Consent Mode and only set their cookies when it allows them. Where EU or UK law requires your consent, analytics and advertising stay off until you accept them. In the United States they start on, and you can turn them off as described in the note for California residents below. We keep your choice for 12 months, then the banner asks again.
