We've rebranded: ProntoHQ is now Pipecorn.

Pipecorn vs Cognism

A side-by-side look at what each tool finds on the same list, what it costs, and what comes with it.

The independent test

They did the benchmark for you

Quentin Kozyra, Head of Growth at Hyperline, ran six providers on the same contacts. A number counts only once a rep reached the right person.

01 Same process

  1. 290 contactsUS, UK and France, the same list sent to every provider
  2. EnrichingSix providers, Cognism and Pipecorn among them, each on its own with no waterfall
  3. SDR callsReps dial every number. It counts only once they reach the right person

02 Different results

Across 290 contacts in the US, the UK and France, Pipecorn found the right number for 83% of the contacts a rep confirmed. Cognism found it for 65%.

A month ago I turned phone enrichment into a contest at Hyperline. Thanks to this project, I can already say we will improve our connection rate by 20%.

The setup: 6 providers on the same list, no waterfall. […] 170 contacts, 169 enriched. Then we actually called.

Here are the 3 things I am taking away.

1. Decide what matters before you pick a provider. Volume of good numbers, or precision? You rarely get both. Pipecorn found the most good numbers. […] Two different bets. Pick yours first, then pick your tool.

2. There is no perfect provider, only a good stack. Pipecorn covered 76% of all the good numbers we found. To get the rest you do not need a better primary, you need the most complementary secondary. Coverage compounds when providers pull from different sources. No need to stack many tools, just the most complementary one.

3. The right stack changes by country. Some providers were excellent on the US and weak on the UK. A stack that wins in one market can quietly lose in another. Test per geography, not in aggregate.

What Quentin took away

  • Pipecorn found the most good numbers.
  • Pipecorn covered 76% of all the good numbers we found.
  • Test per geography, not in aggregate.
What a team pays

Pay for data, not a platform fee

Cognism publishes no price. Vendr's buyer guide lists its Grow plan, phone-verified mobiles included, at $22,513 a year for 5 users. That is a platform fee plus every seat, with 5 seats at least. Pipecorn's prices are public and its seats are free. Set your team to see both bills, or read the Cognism alternative page for its price model in depth.

Pipecorn$3,990a yearPublished price, billed annually Β· 27,000 credits, unlimited seats
Cognism$30,010a yearGrow at list price (Vendr) Β· 10 seats, platform fee included

Pipecorn costs 87% less for this team. Each rep reveals 75 verified mobiles a month, about 4 a working day. Cognism at list price, read in its favour. Grow, its cheapest plan with phone-verified mobiles, one seat per rep and no limit on reveals. Pipecorn stays at least 75% cheaper at every team size, and still cheaper after Cognism buyers' average saving of 26% (Vendr). Vendr's median Cognism contract was $32,750 a year.

Pipecorn vs Cognism

Cognism facts are taken from its own site, its contract price from Vendr. A cross on its side means the site does not list the feature, and ! means it does, with a limit. Hover an icon for the detail.

In Hyperline's call test on 290 contacts across the US, the UK and France, Cognism found the right mobile for 65% of the contacts a rep confirmed, and 55% of the numbers a rep could grade on the phone reached the right person. In the UK its numbers were the most precise of the six providers, 73% against 48% for Pipecorn. It also returned no number at all for 31% of the UK contacts. It was weaker in the US, at 53% coverage against 82%, and in France, at 73% against 93%.

Cognism does not publish its prices. Its pricing page lists two plans, Standard and Pro, each with 5 seats included and credits where one credit reveals one contact, and asks you to talk to sales. Vendr's buyer guide lists Grow, which includes Cognism's phone-verified Diamond Data, at $22,513 a year for 5 users and Elevate at $37,498, and put the median contract at $32,750 a year across 90 purchases. Pipecorn's prices are public, from $49 a month, with unlimited seats.

Hyperline did, on its own contacts, to choose its own provider. Quentin Kozyra, Head of Growth, put six providers, Cognism and Pipecorn among them, on the same 290 contacts across the US, the UK and France, with no waterfall, and had the sales team call the numbers. Hyperline is a Pipecorn customer today. We did not run the test or grade the calls. The US and UK figures come from his analysis, France from the results he shared with us, and All combines the markets weighted by contacts.

Pipecorn used to be called ProntoHQ. It is the same product and the same data. The rename happened after the test.

Yes. Cognism covers intent data on its Pro plan, do-not-call screening and its phone-verified mobiles. Pipecorn finds and verifies mobiles and emails and syncs them to HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive. Run the contacts Cognism returns no number for through Pipecorn first, then compare the two on the calls.

Yes. Pipecorn's free plan gives 150 credits a month with no card. Cognism lists no free plan on its pricing page, so a test of it goes through its sales team. Run the same contacts through both, have your reps dial, and count the numbers that reach the right person.
