# How to find prospects with Claude using Pipecorn's MCP

> Connect Pipecorn to Claude once through its MCP server, then find prospects with Claude in one sentence. Claude previews the count first. Steps and video.

Source: https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/claude-mcp

To find prospects with Claude, open **API & MCP** in Pipecorn and click **Connect** on the **Claude** card to copy the server URL. In Claude, add a custom connector with that URL, click **Connect** and sign in to Pipecorn. Then ask for your prospects in one sentence, check the count Claude previews, and say yes.

The search itself costs no credits. It uses your plan's lead quota, and the list it creates is saved in Pipecorn under **API exports**. You need a Pipecorn account, the free plan included, and a Claude plan that allows custom connectors.

## What you need

Claude and ChatGPT connect by signing in, so no API key is needed for this. Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients send your API key instead. The [developer docs](https://pipecorn.com/developers) list the setup for each client.

* **A Pipecorn account.** API and MCP access is on every plan, Free included. Paid plans raise the rate limit.
* **Claude**, on claude.ai or Claude Desktop, on a plan that lets you add custom connectors.
* **Room in your daily lead quota** for the number of prospects you ask for. Credits are only needed if you also want emails or mobiles.

## Connect Pipecorn and find prospects with Claude, step by step

1. ### Open API & MCP in Pipecorn
In the Pipecorn sidebar, under **Connect**, click **API & MCP**. The **MCP** tab shows the **Server URL** and a row of **AI tools**: Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and VS Code. Click **Connect** on the **Claude** card.
![The Pipecorn API & MCP page on the MCP tab, with the Server URL https://mcp.pipecorn.com/mcp and the Claude card highlighted among the AI tools](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_7.5,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/claude-mcp.jpg)
API & MCP › Claude › Connect
2. ### Copy the server URL
The **Connect Claude** dialog shows a **Paste into Claude** block. It has the name, **Pipecorn**, and the remote MCP server URL, **https://mcp.pipecorn.com/mcp**. Client ID and Client Secret stay empty. Click **Copy**.
![The Connect Claude dialog in Pipecorn with the Paste into Claude block, the Remote MCP server URL https://mcp.pipecorn.com/mcp highlighted and the Copy button](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_10,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/claude-mcp.jpg)
The block to paste into Claude
3. ### Add a custom connector in Claude
In Claude, open your settings, go to **Connectors** and add a custom connector. Type **Pipecorn** as the name, paste the URL as the remote MCP server URL, leave Client ID and Client Secret empty and click **Add**. That is what Pipecorn's **Paste into Claude** block asks for. Claude's own screens change over time, so the labels on your side may differ a little.

A custom connector named Pipecorn
4. ### Click Connect and sign in to Pipecorn
Pipecorn now has a row in your connectors. Click **Connect** on it and sign in to Pipecorn in the window that opens. If Pipecorn asks you to authorize Claude, accept. You're sent back to Claude, and you only do this once.

Pipecorn, connected
5. ### Ask for your prospects in one sentence
Start a new chat and say who you want, for example "Find me 50 VP Sales at US SaaS companies with 51-500 employees". Name the role, the place, the industry and the company size. In the video, Claude first looks up the location and the industry in Pipecorn, then builds the search from them.
![A new Claude chat with the prompt Find me 50 VP Sales at US SaaS companies with 51-500 typed in the message box and the cursor on the send button](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_19.3,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/claude-mcp.jpg)
One sentence, in plain words
6. ### Check the count, then say yes
Claude previews the search before it runs it. It gives you the total count and a few sample leads, then asks whether to go ahead. The preview is free.
Read the count and the samples. If they look right, say yes. If not, change the sentence and let Claude preview again.
![Claude's answer with the count of matching VP Sales, three sample leads, and the line saying the search takes 50 leads from the plan's daily extraction quota and uses no credits](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_26.5,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/claude-mcp.jpg)
The count first, then Claude asks
7. ### Get your prospects in a table next to the chat
Claude runs the search and returns your prospects. In the video they show up as a spreadsheet next to the chat. That table is Claude's, so if you get a plain list, ask Claude for a spreadsheet.
![Claude with a spreadsheet of 50 VP Sales open next to the chat, with title, company, employees, location and LinkedIn columns, names blurred](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_31,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/claude-mcp.jpg)
Your prospects, next to the chat
8. ### Find the list in Pipecorn under API exports
The search also saves the list in Pipecorn. Open **Leads** and the **API exports** tab, not **My Lists**. From there you can enrich the list in the app like any other.

## What a search in Claude costs

Connecting, looking up locations and industries, and previewing the count cost nothing. Running the search costs no credits either. It uses your plan's daily profile-extraction quota, one profile for each lead you pull.

Credits start only if you ask for contact details: 3 credits for each work email found and 30 for each mobile, nothing for a contact that isn't found. Claude shows you the price first and waits for your go. The app, the API and MCP draw on the same credit wallet, and [Pricing](https://pipecorn.com/pricing) lists the quotas and credits on each plan.

![Claude's message offering the work emails at 3 credits per email found, with mobiles at 30 credits each, waiting for an answer](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_34.5,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/claude-mcp.jpg)

The price comes before any enrichment

## Get better results from the same sentence

* **Say the number you want.** Claude passes it on as the size of the search, so you don't pull more than you need from your quota.
* **Name the filters you would use in the app.** Job titles, seniority, function, location, industry, company size, company headquarters and years in the role all work over MCP.
* **Ask for the price if Claude doesn't give it.** Before any email or mobile, ask what it would cost, and say yes only after.
* **Work on companies too.** The same connector can map a market account by account. See [Map your TAM step by step](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/tam-mapping).
* **Automate it outside Claude.** The [Pipecorn API and MCP overview](https://pipecorn.com/integrations) covers the same engine for your own stack and agents.
