# How to set up job change alerts and new hire alerts

> Set up job change alerts in Pipecorn: a weekly New hires alert on your ICP search, and a Track job changes alert on your champions list. Runs use no credits.

Source: https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/job-change-alert

To set up job change alerts in Pipecorn, open a saved list of people you know, click **⋮ › Create alert › Track job changes**, and confirm. For new hires in your ICP, open **Leads** with your filters, turn on **New hire**, click the bell and create a **New hires alert** that runs every day, week or month.

Both alerts sit under **Alerts** in the sidebar. Each run lands there as a list of leads and you get an email. Runs use no credits, and you can turn on enrichment to get the emails and phones too. Each step below has its screenshot from the video.

## What you need

* **The Grow plan or higher.** Grow includes one alert and Scale includes ten. Build has no alerts, and the window says so. See [Pricing](https://pipecorn.com/pricing).
* **The right role.** Owners, admins and managers of the workspace can create alerts.
* **For job changes, a saved list of people.** For example your customers' champions, from a CSV import or a HubSpot list.

## Set up a new hire alert on your ICP search

A New hires alert sends you the people who match your search and started a new role in the last 90 days. Use it to reach buyers in your ICP while they're new in the job.

1. ### Open Leads with your ICP filters and turn on New hire
In **Leads**, set the filters of the people you sell to, like industry, headcount, job title, location and seniority. If you don't have them yet, [Build your ICP list from A to Z](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/icp-list) shows how. Then scroll to **SIGNALS** and switch on **New hire** (Joined a new company in the last 90 days).
The alert adds the 90-day window on every run by itself. Turning New hire on makes the count you see match what the alert will send.

2. ### Click the bell and pick how often it runs
Click the bell at the right of the results header, next to **Enrich leads**. The **Create alert** window opens on a **New hires alert**. Keep or change the **Alert name**, then pick the **Frequency**: Daily, Weekly or Monthly. Weekly is the default.

Pick Daily, Weekly or Monthly
3. ### Create the alert
Read the line in the box. Each run only sends the people you haven't received yet, so you never get the same person twice. The footer says which alert of your plan this is. Click **Create alert**.

## Set up a job change alert on your champions

A job change alert follows the people on a saved list and tells you when one of them changes jobs. Use it on the people who already know you.

1. ### Open your list and click Track job changes
In **Leads**, open **My Lists** and pick a saved list of people you know, like your customers' champions. Click the **⋮** menu, point to **Create alert**, and click **Track job changes** in the menu that opens to the left.
A list made from a database search shows a second item, **New hires**, above it.
![The saved list Customer champions with the More actions menu open, Create alert hovered and the Track job changes item next to it](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_25,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/job-change-alert.jpg)
⋮ › Create alert › Track job changes
2. ### Confirm the job tracking alert
The window shows a **Job tracking alert** that tracks the people on your list and tells you when they change jobs. Job changes are checked once a month, so there is no frequency to pick. Click **Create alert**.
If the window says "This list has no leads whose job changes can be tracked yet.", Pipecorn can't follow anyone on that list yet. A lead needs a LinkedIn ID for its job changes to be tracked.

## Where your alerts and their results land

1. ### Find both alerts under Alerts
Click **Alerts** in the sidebar. The table lists every alert with its status, name, type (New Hires or Job Changes), frequency and owner.
![The Alerts page listing two active alerts, Job changes - Customer champions every month and New hires from lead search every week](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_34.8,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/job-change-alert.jpg)

2. ### Open a run and its list of leads
Click an alert to open it. **Overview** shows the next run and every past run with its date, status and number of leads. Click **View leads** to open the list. Each run also sends you an email that says how many new hires or job changes it found.
An alert runs once right after you create it. A job change alert's first run only reports moves from the last 90 days, so it can come back empty.
![The Overview tab of the alert New hires from lead search, with the next run date, a finished run and its lead count, and the View leads button, with the alert's New Hires detected email shown over the top right corner](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_37.4,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/job-change-alert.jpg)
Each run is a list of leads, and an email
3. ### Turn on enrichment to get emails and phones
Runs use no credits. To get the work email and mobile of each lead too, open the alert's **Settings** tab and turn on **Enable enrichment**, then pick the **Enrichment type** (Email addresses only, Phone numbers only, or Email and phone numbers) and click **Save changes**.
Enrichment costs 3 credits per work email and 30 per mobile, only when Pipecorn finds them, on every later run. In the same tab, **Only qualified leads** sends only the qualified leads to your webhooks, CRM and integrations. On a New hires alert, **Update frequency** changes how often it runs.

## What job change alerts cost

Creating an alert is free, and so is every run. The leads a run brings count toward your plan's monthly leads (25K on Grow, unlimited on Scale). Credits are spent only if you turn on enrichment, at 3 credits per work email and 30 per mobile found. [Pay only for what Pipecorn finds](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/credits) shows where to check every credit you spend.

## Who to track for job changes

Track the people who already know your product. When they move, they can bring you into their new company, and the [job change tracking](https://pipecorn.com/track-job-changes) page explains why that pays off. Good lists to start with:

* Contacts inside your customer accounts, like your champions.
* Active and deactivated product users.
* Contacts from closed-lost and open opportunities.
* Contacts from churned accounts.
* Any priority prospect list.

## Questions

### How often does Pipecorn check for job changes?

Once a month. A job tracking alert has no frequency to pick. A New hires alert runs daily, weekly or monthly, as you choose.

### What is the difference between a New hires alert and a job change alert?

A New hires alert runs on a search and sends the people matching it who started a new role in the last 90 days. A job change alert follows the people on a saved list and tells you when one of them changes jobs.

### Do alerts use credits?

No. Runs use no credits, and the leads count toward your monthly leads. Only enrichment, if you turn it on in the alert's settings, costs 3 credits per email and 30 per mobile found.

### Will I get the same person twice?

No. Each run of a New hires alert only sends the people you haven't received yet.

### How many alerts can I create?

One on Grow and ten on Scale. Build doesn't include alerts. See [Pricing](https://pipecorn.com/pricing).

### How do I get notified?

Each run lands under Alerts as a list of leads, and you get an email. You can add more people under Additional recipients in the alert's settings.

### Can I send alert leads to my CRM?

Yes, if your CRM is connected. Turn on Only qualified leads in the alert's settings to send only the qualified ones. See the [HubSpot integration](https://pipecorn.com/hubspot-integration).
