# How to enrich a CSV of leads with emails and mobiles

> Upload a CSV or Excel file of leads to Pipecorn and get each person's verified work email and mobile. You only pay for the contacts found. Steps and video.

To enrich a CSV of leads, upload the file in Pipecorn under **Leads › Import leads › From CSV**, check how the columns were mapped, tick **Work email** and **Mobile phone**, and import. The enrichment runs on the whole list by itself, and the list opens with the emails and mobiles filling in row by row.

Your file only needs a first name, a last name and a company for each person. A work email costs 3 credits and a mobile costs 30, and a contact that comes back Not found costs nothing. The video above shows the whole flow in about a minute, and each step below has its screenshot.

## What your file needs

Pipecorn takes a CSV or an Excel file (.xls or .xlsx), one file at a time, up to 10 MB and 10,000 rows. Three columns are required, and a fourth is optional:

* **first\_name**
* **last\_name**
* **company\_name**
* **linkedin\_url**, optional but recommended.

## Enrich your lead list, step by step

1. ### Open Import leads and pick From CSV
In **Leads**, click **Import leads**, then **From CSV**. The same menu also imports from a Sales Navigator search or from your CRM.
![The Leads page in Pipecorn with the Import leads menu open and From CSV highlighted](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_9.8,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/lead-list-enrichment.jpg)
Leads › Import leads › From CSV
2. ### Drop your file
Drag your CSV or Excel file into the upload area, or click to pick it. The page lists the headers it expects, so you can check your file before you send it. Then click **Import leads**. Nothing is enriched yet at this point.
![The Import leads upload page listing the expected headers first_name, last_name, company_name and linkedin_url, with a CSV file dropped in](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_13,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/lead-list-enrichment.jpg)
The expected headers, and your file in the drop zone
3. ### Check the column mapping
Pipecorn reads your headers and maps each column to a field for you. **Company Name**, **Lead Firstname** and **Lead Lastname** are mandatory, and **Lead Profile Linkedin Url** is optional. Look at the example data next to each field. If a column is wrong, for example your file calls it Surname, pick the right one in the dropdown.
![The CSV fields mapping screen with Company Name, Lead Firstname, Lead Lastname and Lead Profile Linkedin Url mapped to the file's columns and example data shown](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_23,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/lead-list-enrichment.jpg)
Each field, the column it reads from, and example data from your file
4. ### Tick Work email and Mobile phone
Under the mapping, **Find contact info for the whole list** sets what to look for on every row. Tick **Work email**, then **Mobile phone**. The line below gives the most the import can cost, because a work email costs 3 credits and a mobile 30, and you're only charged for the contacts Pipecorn finds.
Then click **Import leads**. The enrichment starts by itself, so you don't have to select the leads again afterwards.
![Find contact info for the whole list with Work email at 3 credits each and Mobile phone at 30 credits each both ticked, above the Import leads button](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_37,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/lead-list-enrichment.jpg)
The maximum cost shows before you import
5. ### Watch the emails and mobiles fill in
Your list opens in **Leads**, named after your file. Each row shows **Enriching…** until its contact comes back, and a badge at the top counts the phones done. The list also stays in **My Lists**, so you can come back to it later.
![The imported list q4-target-accounts in Leads, with work emails and phone numbers filling in and some cells still enriching](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_47,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/lead-list-enrichment.jpg)
The list takes the file's name and fills in row by row
6. ### Check deliverability before you send
Hover the email count at the top of the list. The **Providers** popover shows how many emails are deliverable or catch-all, and which provider found what. Every email goes through three verifiers before it reaches you (the popover says triple debounced).
![The Providers popover over the email count, showing that all emails have been triple debounced, the deliverable and catch-all counts, and the providers that found them](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_53,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/lead-list-enrichment.jpg)
Deliverability and providers, for this list
7. ### Download the list or push it to your CRM
When nothing is found for someone, the cell says **Not found**, and that contact costs nothing. When the list is done, open the **⋮** menu to **Download** it, or use **Push leads to** to send it to your CRM. Syncing to HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive is on the Grow and Scale plans.
![The list's More actions menu open with Download and Push leads to HubSpot](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_62,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/lead-list-enrichment.jpg)
⋮ › Download, or Push leads to your CRM

## What enriching a list costs

Importing the file and mapping it spends no credits. Credits are spent only on what comes back: 3 credits for a work email and 30 for a mobile number. A row with nothing found costs 0, so the most the import can cost is the figure shown before you click, and the real cost is often lower.

The free plan comes with 150 credits a month, which is 50 work emails or 5 mobiles, enough to test on a slice of your file. See [Pricing](https://pipecorn.com/pricing) for the paid plans, and [Pay only for what Pipecorn finds](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/credits) to check every credit you spent, person by person.

## Get more emails and mobiles out of the same file

* **Add the LinkedIn URL when you have it.** The upload page marks it optional but recommended, and the mapping screen matches it to the person's LinkedIn ID.
* **Split a file over 10,000 rows** into several imports. Each one becomes its own list.
* **Re-run the rows your other tools couldn't fill.** Pipecorn asks one provider after another until one has the contact, so it can fill gaps a single provider left. See [how the waterfall works](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/waterfall).
* **Already imported the list?** Run **Enrich leads** on it and compare the counts, as in [See what enrichment adds to your file](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/before-after).
* **Need to build the file first?** [How to create a CSV file for outbound](https://pipecorn.com/blog/create-a-csv-file) covers the format.

## Questions

### Which columns does the CSV need?

First name, last name and company name are required. A LinkedIn profile URL is optional but recommended.

### How many leads can I enrich at once?

Up to 10,000 rows per file, and up to 10 MB. For a bigger list, split it into several files and import each one.

### Can I upload an Excel file instead of a CSV?

Yes. Pipecorn takes .csv, .xls and .xlsx files.

### Do I pay for leads where nothing is found?

No. A work email costs 3 credits and a mobile 30, only when Pipecorn finds it. A cell that says Not found costs nothing.

### Can I enrich a list that has no LinkedIn URLs?

Yes. A first name, a last name and a company are the only required columns. The LinkedIn URL is optional, though Pipecorn recommends adding it when you have it.

### How do I know the emails are deliverable?

Hover the email count at the top of the list. The popover shows how many emails are deliverable or catch-all. Every email goes through three verifiers before it reaches you.

### How do I enrich an old CRM list?

Export it as a CSV with first name, last name and company, then import it here. You can also import straight from your CRM with **Import leads › From Hubspot** once it's connected (the menu names your CRM, and CRM sync is on Grow and Scale), and push the enriched leads back with **Push leads to**. See [Push your leads to HubSpot](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/crm-sync).
