Source: https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/waterfall

To run waterfall enrichment on a lead list in Pipecorn, open the list, click **Enrich leads**, pick **All in list**, tick **Work email** and **Mobile phone** and click **Enrich**. For each person, Pipecorn asks one provider after another and stops at the first one that finds the contact. Then hover the counters to see who found what, and download only the emails marked deliverable.

A work email costs 3 credits and a mobile 30, and you only pay for the ones found. Each step below has its screenshot. For what waterfall enrichment is and how tools compare, read the [waterfall enrichment guide](https://pipecorn.com/blog/waterfall-enrichment-guide).

## What you need

* **A lead list in Pipecorn.** A saved list from a search, or a file you imported. To bring in a CSV, see [Enrich a lead list you already have](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/lead-list-enrichment).
* **Credits.** The free plan comes with 150 credits a month, which is 50 work emails or 5 mobiles. Waterfall enrichment and email verification are on every plan, Free included.
* **Grow or Scale to push to a CRM.** HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive sync come with those two plans.

## Run waterfall enrichment on a lead list, step by step

1. ### Open your list and pick All in list
In **Leads › My Lists**, open the list. Click **Enrich leads**, pick **All in list** and click **Continue**. The other choices are **All in page**, **Only qualified** and **Custom**, if you only want part of the list.
![The Enrich leads menu on the Q4 target accounts list with All in list selected above the Continue button](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_11.2,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/waterfall.jpg)
Enrich leads › All in list
2. ### Tick Work email and Mobile phone
The panel reads **Everyone in this list**. Tick **Work email** and **Mobile phone**. Each line says how many people don't have one yet and the most it can cost, and the button shows the total as **Enrich · up to N credits**. Under it, **Credits are only charged for the contacts we find.**
Leave **Personal email** alone unless you need it. It costs 9 credits and has to be turned on in settings first.
![The enrich panel with Work email and Mobile phone ticked, the Enrich button showing the credit ceiling, and the line Credits are only charged for the contacts we find highlighted](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_18.8,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/waterfall.jpg)
The most it can cost, before you click
3. ### Click Enrich and let the waterfall run
Click **Enrich**. Each cell shows **Enriching…** while Pipecorn goes down its list of providers for that person and stops at the first one that finds the contact. A cell then shows the email or the mobile, or **Not found** when no provider had it.
You don't build or order the provider chain yourself. Pipecorn's [waterfall enrichment](https://pipecorn.com/waterfall-enrichment) picks from more than 100 providers per lookup and routes by the lead's country, because coverage differs from one market to another.
![The Q4 target accounts list during enrichment, with Work email and Phone cells showing Enriching and a phone enrichment badge at the top](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_21.8,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/waterfall.jpg)
Each row goes down the providers until one has it
4. ### Hover the counters to check providers and deliverability
Hover the email counter at the top of the list. The **Providers** popover lists the providers that found the emails, each with its share and its number of emails. Some show as a generic name such as Email Provider 1.
The same popover says **All emails have been triple debounced**, meaning every email went through three verifiers. Under **Email deliverability** you see how many are **Deliverable**, **Catch-all** or **Invalid**. Hover the phone counter to see which providers found the mobiles.
![The Providers popover over the email counter, with All emails have been triple debounced, Email deliverability counts for Deliverable, Catch-all and Invalid, and the share of emails found by each provider](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_32.6,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/waterfall.jpg)
Who found what, and how many are deliverable
5. ### Fill the gaps your other tools left
If another tool already ran on your list, put the leads it couldn't fill in a CSV and import it with **Import leads › From CSV**. First name, last name and company are enough, mapped to **Lead Firstname**, **Lead Lastname** and **Company Name**.
Under **Find contact info for the whole list**, tick the same **Work email** and **Mobile phone** boxes and import. The enrichment starts on its own.
![The CSV fields mapping screen with the mandatory fields Company Name, Lead Firstname and Lead Lastname and Work email and Mobile phone ticked under Find contact info for the whole list](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_40.5,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/waterfall.jpg)
The rows other tools missed, with the same boxes ticked
6. ### Download only the deliverable emails
Open the **⋮** menu and click **Download**. In **Export options**, under **Email status**, keep **Deliverable** ticked and leave **Risky (Catch-all)** and **Not found** unticked. The dialog says how many leads will be exported before you click **Download**.

⋮ › Download › Email status › Deliverable
7. ### Or push the list to your CRM or sequencer
From the same **⋮** menu, **Push leads to** sends the list to your CRM or to a sequencer such as lemlist, Instantly or Smartlead. HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive sync come with Grow and Scale.

⋮ › Push leads to
8. ### On LinkedIn, use the Chrome extension for one profile
For a single person, the [Pipecorn Chrome extension](https://pipecorn.com/extension) runs the same waterfall on the LinkedIn profile you're on. Click **Find email** and **Find mobile**. A found email shows whether it's deliverable.
![The Pipecorn panel on a LinkedIn profile with Email Found marked Email deliverable and Phone Found, contact details blurred](https://res.cloudinary.com/dqqyl36ed/video/upload/so_54.6,c_fill,ar_16:9,w_1280,f_auto,q_auto/pipecorn/university/waterfall.jpg)

## What a waterfall run costs

You pay per contact found, not per provider asked: 3 credits for a work email and 30 for a mobile. The waterfall stops at the first match, so you're billed once for the provider that delivered and never for the ones that missed. A contact nobody finds costs nothing, and an email that fails verification counts as a miss.

The figure on the **Enrich** button is therefore a ceiling. See [Pricing](https://pipecorn.com/pricing) for the credits on each plan.

## Tips for a cleaner export

* **Leave catch-all out of a first send.** A catch-all domain accepts mail for any address, so a verifier can't confirm the mailbox. Keeping **Deliverable** only is the safer file for a new domain or a new sequence.
* **Don't read the provider share as a find rate.** Each percentage in **Providers** is a share of the emails or phones found, not of the whole list.
* **Measure the gain on one file.** [See what enrichment adds to your file](https://pipecorn.com/pipeschool/before-after) compares the same list before and after.
* **Check more than the address when bounces stay high.** [How to verify email addresses](https://pipecorn.com/blog/how-to-verify-email-addresses) covers what else to check before you send.

## Questions

### How does Pipecorn's waterfall enrichment work?

For each person, Pipecorn asks one provider after another and stops at the first one that finds the contact. It picks from more than 100 providers and routes by the lead's country. You don't set up the chain.

### Do I pay for every provider the waterfall asks?

No. You pay once per contact found, 3 credits for a work email and 30 for a mobile. Providers that missed cost nothing, and so does a contact nobody finds.

### What does triple debounced mean?

Every email went through three verifiers before it reached you. The Providers popover says so and shows how many emails are deliverable, catch-all or invalid.

### How do I export only deliverable emails?

Open the list's **⋮** menu, click **Download**, and under **Email status** in **Export options** keep **Deliverable** only.

### Can I see which provider found each email?

Yes, per list. Hover the email or phone counter at the top of the list. The Providers popover shows each provider's share and how many contacts it found.

### Can I run the waterfall on leads another tool couldn't find?

Yes. Import them as a CSV with first name, last name and company, tick Work email and Mobile phone under Find contact info for the whole list, and import.
